Privacy Policy

1. What is Real Self?

Real Self is an AI-powered self-discovery app. You have conversations with an AI that helps you understand your own patterns, tendencies, and personality over time.

2. Information We Collect

• Account information: your email address and a hashed password when you register.
• Conversation content: the messages you send and receive during sessions. The AI processes your messages in memory to generate responses and build your profile, but the stored data is mathematically unreadable without the encryption key.
• Derived insights: personality trait scores, patterns, and archetypes generated from your conversations.
• Usage data: session counts and daily message usage to enforce plan limits.

We do not collect your name, phone number, location, contacts, or any device identifiers.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide the app's core functionality — generating responses and building your psychological profile over time.
• To enforce daily usage limits on free accounts.
• To improve the app. We may review anonymised conversation data in aggregate to improve AI quality.

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising.

4. AI Processing

Your messages are processed by Claude, an AI made by Anthropic (anthropic.com). Messages are sent to Anthropic's API to generate responses. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to this processing. We do not use your conversations to train AI models.

5. Data Storage

Your data is stored in a secure cloud database hosted on Neon (neon.tech) and our backend runs on Google Cloud Run (cloud.google.com). Both are located in the United States.

6. Data Retention

Your data is kept for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from the Settings screen in the app. This permanently deletes all your conversations, insights, and account data within 30 days.

7. Third-Party Processors

We use the following third-party services to operate the app. Each has its own privacy policy and we are not responsible for their data practices:

• Anthropic — AI response generation (anthropic.com/privacy)
• Neon — encrypted database storage (neon.tech/privacy)
• Google Cloud — backend infrastructure (cloud.google.com/privacy)
• Apple — payment processing and app distribution (apple.com/privacy)

8. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical measures to protect your data, including AES-256 encryption of conversation content at rest. However, no system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee that unauthorized third parties will never be able to defeat our security measures. You use the service at your own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any unauthorized access to, disclosure of, or loss of your data.

9. Your Rights

You can reset all your psychological data at any time from Settings → Reset My Data, delete your account and all associated data from Settings → Delete Account, or request a copy of your data by contacting us at the email below. We will respond to valid data requests within a reasonable time, subject to applicable law.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Liquet Tech shall not be liable for any damages arising from unauthorized access to your data, data loss, service interruptions, or any other privacy-related incident. Our privacy practices are provided on a best-efforts basis without warranty of any kind.

11. Changes

We may update this policy at any time. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. We are not obligated to notify you of changes, though we will attempt to do so for material changes through the app.
